While care needs may vary slightly based on fabric type, our most cautious and universal recommendation is spot clean only. This approach helps protect the garment's integrity, especially for styles with hand beading, embroidery, sequins, or metallic finishes.

If deeper cleaning is ever required, we strongly suggest consulting a professional dry cleaner with experience in luxury eveningwear, and always informing them of the gown’s materials and embellishments in advance.

Due to the delicate craftsmanship of our hand-beaded styles, dry cleaning is not recommended. In most cases, doing less is actually best when it comes to keeping your gown in top form.

• Hang with care: Store your gown in a cool, dry closet where it has enough room to hang freely. Avoid cramming it between other garments to prevent bead friction or distortion. A padded hanger is a gentle choice. 
• Breathe easy: Every few months, gently air out the dress to keep the fabric fresh and prevent long-term creasing.
• Cover wisely: Use a breathable garment bag (not plastic) to shield it from dust and light without trapping moisture.

Spot Cleaning

• Avoid harsh chemicals: Never soak or submerge the dress. Instead, use a clean, damp cloth to gently dab at stains or spots.

A Note About Beads

• It’s completely normal to find a few stray beads in your Mac Duggal packaging—this is part of the hand-beading process.
• Bead packet included: Most dresses with a small pouch of extra beads, just in case. We recommend keeping it with your gown for future use if repairs are ever needed.

General Fit Guidelines

Bust 

• Should feel secure and smooth — never tight or constrictive. 
• Boning or built-in cups should lay flat with no gaping or bulging. 
• For strapless or off-the-shoulder styles, the neckline should stay in place when you move your arms. 

Tip: If you’re between sizes, size up for comfort and have the bust tailored for a 
custom fit.

Waist 

• Should define your natural waist without digging in. 
• You should be able to sit comfortably while maintaining shape. 

Tip: The waist should hug, not squeeze — tailoring can fine-tune the fit perfectly. 

Hips 

• Fabric should gently skim your hips — not pull or bunch. 
• You should be able to move freely without strain. 
• Embellished dresses have little give and should have room for you to sit comfortably to avoid stress at the seams or friction with beading.
